This distinctive 432 sq. ft. retreat is designed for efficient living in almost any setting. With its low maintenance exterior and integral porch, the structure provides a protective enclosure from which to enjoy the outdoors. The interior space can be opened up to cross breezes through the wall of sliding glass doors and operable skylight above the storage/sleeping loft, thus providing efficient passive cooling. In the interest of versatility, the wall adjacent to the entry can accommodate a murphy bed/storage wall, work area, or built in display/book shelf. Combining these elements with a compact, but fully featured kitchen, spa like tiled 3/4 bath area, and generous utility/storage room, this home can provide luxurious full-time or part-time living in any climate. -Mark Meyer, designSTUDIO

Variations and Customization
The Casita model represented above is shown in one style available. It
can be built in a range of colors offered through the corrugated
panels,
or other treatments could be considered. On the interior, options range
from reclaimed materials, to high end wood paneling. For example,
exposed ceiling rafters combined with an untreated wood exterior, and
reclaimed floors could make for an excellent coastal style.
As well, any of the plans can be flipped vertically or horizontally depending on your preference and/or site conditions. We offer a standard set of options for the interior but besides these elements being modified, we can even leave it bare for you to complete on your own.
Unlike what you might find at some very large modular and manufactuing operations, we tackle each project as a custom home. There really isn't a perfect design for a house that fits everyone, so give us a call to talk about how we can accommodate you. Design fees for these changes are not accounted for when talking about our baseline pricing, but can be negotiated with the designer.
