DualSpace

Factory Construction
3 Bed 2 Bath - 1330 sq.ft.

This 1330 s.f. retreat is a refined study in compact family living. Protected on two sides by the sheltering wings of the house, the twin courtyards offer up ample outdoor space adjacent to the major living areas for al fresco work and play. The great room, with its dine-in kitchen, serves as the working backdrop for the public life of the home and defines one side of the social courtyard. Beyond the great room, twin bedrooms spill into a widened hallway, perfect for an impromptu play area. This hallway and the adjacent master wing serve as the boundary for the private courtyard, allowing for a welcome escape opposite the public spaces of the plan. A restrained exterior palette, high clerestory windows, and clean lines elicit the ethos of mid-century domesticity in an updated package.   -Mark Meyer, designSTUDIO

Variations and Customization

The model represented above is shown in one style available. In the case of the DualSpace model, either end of the slipped modules can be modified to that of the ones available in the ShedSpace model. We've chosen a mid-century style treatment for our stock offerings with dark vertical wood siding, but brightly colored panels and more standard types of siding are available at varying costs.

As well, any of the plans can be flipped vertically or horizontally depending on your preference and/or site conditions. For the DualSpace model, the rear courtyard could be filled with decking, or left more open for parking. We offer a standard set of options for the interior but depending on your budget and personal style, these elements can be modified, or even left bare for you to complete.

Unlike what you might find at some very large modular and manufactuing operations, we tackle each project as a custom home. There really isn't a perfect design for a house that fits everyone, so give us a call to talk about how we can accommodate you. Design fees for these changes are not accounted for when talking about our baseline pricing, but can be negotiated with the designer.
